Fashion fittings and piping!

Another crazy whirlwind week in the costume shop, we had a fast turn around for all of our fittings to accommodate our designer’s schedule. This meant that we built garments in a day or less!

I worked on a new skill - piping. I made two dresses with piping on the neckline, waist, and should seams. Check out photos below!

I also made an overdress entirely put together with French seams. I hadn’t done French seams in a practical garment before, and had only done them in practice during my Intro to Costumes class at Doane under the tutelage of Donna Himmelberger.
