My Worldwide Travel Journey - Recap

Ahoy, Matey!

I recently returned from the most exciting travel journey of my life and I can’t wait to tell you all about it! I spent the last nine months working shoreside in the Creative Studios and onboard the Regent Seven Seas Explorer as Wardrobe Supervisor! While onboard, I was in charge of the five production shows (Paradis, World Rhythms, My Revolution, Divos & Divas, and Broadway in Concert) and two smaller shows or “bumpers” (Fiesta Caliente and ABBA). Here are some production photos taken by one of our guests!

He even snapped a photo of me!

My Revolution was our closing show each cruise and Dru, our Cruise Director, would call me out on stage to acknowledge me and the behind the scenes work I do. So glad our guest captured this moment!

While onboard, I traveled to 23 countries on five continents over six months. As Wardrobe Supervisor, I was in charge of the care and maintenance of all of our beautiful costumes! I would do alterations and repairs, laundry and cleaning, pressing and steaming, inventory, paperwork, and more. While I have done this job state side, this was my first contract abroad and first time on a ship!

I also had job duties outside of the costume world like socializing with guests, teaching needlepoint and bracelet making with our Social Hostess, giving backstage tours, hosting dinners, running karaoke, etc. in addition to my onboard crew duties like safety trainings, weekly drills, and assisting with guest cruise check in. I had an absolute blast! Here are a few more photos from my time onboard:

The last few months have been an absolute whirlwind! While I miss the travel and all the friends I have made, I am glad to be home for the next few months. I recently accepted my next ship contract offer and I can’t wait to share with you all where I will be off to next! In the meantime, I will be completing my MA in Arts Leadership and Management from Wichita State University with graduation set for May of this year. I will also be designing and advising the costume shop at the Brownville Village Theatre, my seventh summer at BVT! Stay tuned for more updates!
