Steel Magnolias has always been a dream show of mine so when I was asked to design hair, makeup, and wigs I was honored! Each character had their own concept and look(s) throughout the show and I am so incredibly proud of how they all turned out!
For Clairee, we wanted to play up her fun personality and willingness to change by having her in a different hairstyle for each scene. The first two are a little more specific - with scene one as her longest hairstyle and scene two being her “new short and sassy look!” We continued the trend for the last two scenes, including having her set in rollers at the top of scene four.
